Celebrating the Best of Retail Design

Proceeds benefit PAVE educational programs

Wed., Dec. 5, 2012 | Cipriani Wall Street | 55 Wall Street, New York

Record-breaking attendance and sponsorships boosted proceeds of PAVE’s 16th Annual Gala to over the $150,000 mark — a record amount that will enable PAVE to continue its support of retail design education. Held at the Cipriani Wall Street in New York City, the fundraiser — an annual industry highlight — drew 690 influential retailers, designers, and industry suppliers from the likes of Saks Fifth Avenue, Godiva Chocolatier, Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s, Target, Chute Gerdeman, d-ash design, Callison, and TPG Architecture, to name a few. Eleven students with winning projects in the Student Design Competition and three educators attended through seats donated by industry companies.

PAVE showcased young talent via a Kara Laricks-inspired student project. Mannequins scattered throughout the space featured apparel and/or accessories created from repurposed materials by students from the Fashion Institute of Technology (New York), Radford University (Virginia), and the TAFE NSW Sydney Institute and The Gordon (both Australia).

During the awards presentation, PAVE recognized the winners of the 18th Annual Student Design Competition, sponsored by B+N Industries, with special thanks to Bonobos, awarding $27,000 in grants to students and schools. For a complete list of student and school recipients, visit
