    CloseHarry Cunningham is the Head of Store Development for Vera Bradley. This involves developing and implementing innovative visual merchandising and store design, overseeing new store construction and remodels, and selecting the real estate and sites for new stores.

    Over the course of 25 years Harry worked his way through increasingly prominent visual merchandising roles with Liz Claiborne, Saks Department Store Group and Dillard's, before becoming Senior Vice President of Store Planning, Design and Visual Merchandising at Saks Fifth Avenue prior to joining Vera Bradley  

    During his time at Saks Fifth Avenue, Harry was instrumental in the re-launch of the company's award-winning men's stores in Beverly Hills and Chicago, as well as developing their award-winning fashion windows and legendary holiday displays.   
    He also launched new designs for the company's signature designer and contemporary businesses, and 10022-SHOE, the vast designer shoe floor.

    Harry has won numerous industry awards including Design: Retail Magazine's prestigious Markopoulos Award in 2014. He was also recognized by the publication as a "Retail Design Luminary" in 2012 and as a "Retail Design Influencer" in 2011, 2013 and 2014. He is also heavily involved in the wider industry, serving on the board of directors of PAVE and as a member of several advisory boards.

    Harry is regularly invited to participate in panel discussions and speaking engagements worldwide, sharing his experiences and knowledge with students and industry professionals alike.

    CloseBill Goddu joined Pennsylvania based FLEETWOOD Fixtures as vice president, design and development, in 2005, and now acts as ‘Brand Steward/Creative Director’. Over time his role has expanded to encompass responsibility for individual creative service programs, meeting the needs of a diverse retail client base and overseeing the expansion of FLEETWOOD into other markets. 

    Bill received his BFA in Architectural Interiors from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, MA. His first retail experience came at John Wanamaker in Philadelphia, reporting directly to the Executive Vice President of Advertising and Sales Promotion. After this he spent 14 years as Creative Director for Chicago based MET, a marketing organization focused on retail fixtures, visual merchandising and design driven products. Over time he became Executive Vice President of Design and Development, and an equity partner, strategically positioning the business for its acquisition by Leggett & Platt.

    For 2001 to 2005 Bill was Partner and Vice President at Doverall LLC, a cementitious material organization focused on developing and licensing technological innovation in the field of sustainable building materials. During his time there he spearheaded a product development team, before moving on to his current post at FLEETWOOD Fixtures. 
     
    Throughout his career, Bill has been recognized many times by Visual Merchandising and Store Design (VMSD) and DDI, for the quality of his retail product presentations.

    CloseFrom developing successful client solutions, to forming multi-disciplinary teams, to advising up-and-coming designers, Denny Gerdeman has been hands on and at the helm of Chute Gerdeman retail design for more than 25 years.

    At his core, he’s a hardworking retail veteran. To the retail industry, Denny is ambassador, leader and student mentor rolled into one. To all of us
    at Chute Gerdeman, he’s the cornerstone of the firm, along with Elle Chute, his wife and partner.

    Under Denny’s leadership, Chute Gerdeman has achieved renown as a leading retail design firm, winning four Store of the Year awards and landing on DDI magazine’s list of the most important Design Firms for an unprecedented 14 years running.

    Denny’s curious mind and can-do attitude have helped assemble a talented team of like-minded professionals who strive for innovation, not duplication. He set the standard for how we treat our clients: honestly, respectfully and creatively, always on-time and within budget.

    While Denny typically prefers work over play, he recently resolved to expand his recreational travel beyond client boardrooms and international airport terminals, preferably with an occasional round of golf or ski run, wherever possible.

    Jeffrey Hutchison is a registered architect in Texas, New York and Connecticut. He originally obtained an architecture degree from Texas Tech before starting to work with HMBH, a Dallas-based architecture firm. In the 1980s, he moved to New York and was hired by retail focused firm Peter Marino, where he oversaw the design of Barneys New York’s Madison Avenue store and its expansion to Los Angeles and Chicago. In 1991, Jeffrey joined Polo Ralph Lauren, directing the in-house store design team where he worked until 1998 as Vice President overseeing a team of 35.

    After 25 years in the fashion retail architecture and design arena, Jeffery founded Jeffrey Hutchinson & Associates in 2001.

    Combining creativity with experience, the firm’s work has garnered media attention and won awards from bodies such as the Retail Design Institute, The Fashion Group International and The Association for Retail Environments.

    For every client, Hutchinson’s strive to offer an individual solution rather than a formulaic design, working with local materials and artisans to create an environment which is functional, yet subtly reflects its surroundings.

    CloseLena Lim is a Business Developer for B+N Industries, where she has led its New York City office and East Coast practice for the last 10 years. Throughout her 20 years in the Retail Design industry, Lena is proud to have supported and collaborated with retailers, architects and design firms on a number of innovative and beautiful projects.  Lena has worked also for companies such as Propaganda, Bay Area Display San Francisco, and LOOK.

    Lena is a longtime active member of New York’s retail design community, including serving as co-Chair of the 2016 PAVE Gala as well as participating on other PAVE committees. She is a member of the Board of the Retail Design Institute New York Chapter, where she programs events exploring and celebrating the best of retail design in New York.  She also serves as a Board Member of NEWH’s New York Chapter.

    Lena holds a Bachelor of Arts from State University of New York at Binghamton, where was a member of Alpha Phi and the Women’s Rugby Club. A consummate New York City native, Lena exemplifies the city in her love of food, drink, art, and travel as well as her lifelong refusal to learn how to drive.

    Anne Kong is an educator and a designer specializing in Visual Presentation, Exhibition and Special Events with more than 20 years of experience developing design concepts and solutions for retail, showrooms, trade shows and promotional events. As a Professor and former Chairperson of the Visual Presentation and Exhibition Design Department at New York’s Fashion Institute of Technology, she is best known for innovating professional collaborations between retailers and brands to enhance the classroom experience for her students. Anne is a partner of creative services for her own design company, A+D Kong that she shares with her husband David, working with a vast range of clients on consulting and producing large-scale installations. She is an advisory member for Retail Design International [RSD Publishing] and serves on the PAVE Committee [The Partnership for Planning and Visual Education] and is responsible for organizing the Annual PAVE Gala Student Exhibition each year.

    Her design work has been recognized by the Cooper Hewitt Design Museum and she has developed programs and lectures in participation with the Smithsonian Institute in Washington D.C.

    CloseTodd is the Chief Operating Officer of Shop! Association and the Executive Director for PAVE. Todd has over 25 years of Marketing and Finance experience with industry leading companies and associations. Working for Dairy Management (National Dairy Council) as the Vice President of Marketing and Analysis, Todd has managed the organization’s transformation from generic advertising (GOT MILK) to product development through industry partnerships resulting in continuous dairy growth over his 7 year tenure.

    Prior to Dairy Management, Todd was a Director of Field Marketing at Arby’s Restaurant Group in charge of marketing planning and implementation for over 400 company and franchise units in 19 markets. While at Arby’s Todd sat on the board of directors for Big Brothers Big Sisters and was elected president and vice president of the Erie, PA and Pittsburgh, PA Arby’s cooperative respectively. Strategic initiatives that Todd implemented at Arby’s included the creation of a value menu, the rollout of the new line of chicken products, and the transformation of national media to local cable buys to improve message efficiencies.

    Prior to Arby’s, Todd held the position of Manager of the Analysis Department, and later Field Marketing Manager, for Wendy’s International. Working closely with corporate and field partners, Todd successfully grew Wendy’s market share and effectively raised money for the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption.

    Early in Todd’s career, valuable experience was gained with companies such as Prudential, Borden, Wise Foods, and American National Can.

    Todd holds a Masters of Business Administration from Loyola University, Chicago and a Bachelors of Business Administration from the University of Cincinnati.

She is a leading expert in Point-of-Purchase Visual Merchandising and an industry force in various organizations including the Global Association for Marketing at Retail (POPAI) and the Canadian Professional Sales Association. She is currently a member of the Global Education Committee and Chair of the North America Education Committee for the New Association.

      CloseAfter joining Maya Romanoff in 2009, Jennifer assumed the role of Vice President of East Coast Operations in 2012 in advance of the opening of Maya Romanoff’s New York showroom. She manages East Coast sales, both from the Maya Romanoff New York showroom in Manhattan’s D&D Building and from outlying territories.  

      Jennifer attended Purdue University and earned a BA in Psychology. She graduated with Honors and continued her studies at Carnegie Mellon, where she graduated with an MS in Human-Computer Interaction. Having held positions at both large corporations in Silicon Valley and dot-com start-ups, Jennifer’s management capabilities and technological savvy proved to be significant assets to the company.  

      Her personal accomplishments include finishing three marathons, completing two Century Bike Rides, and trekking to the Mt. Everest base camp. Step-daughter of the company’s founder and namesake Maya Romanoff and daughter of the company’s current CEO, Joyce Romanoff, Jennifer has inherited her mother’s boundless energy and passion for the company, product and mission statement, “It’s got to be beautiful.”  

      Jennifer lives in Armonk, New York with her husband and two beautiful daughters, Elah and Amy.

      Shane Danos has been working in the field of visual merchandising and store planning and design for over a quarter of a century, enjoying a wide and varied range of executive responsibilities.

      For the past two years he has been the Vice President, Visual Merchandising and Store Planning at Saks Fifth Avenue. In this role he develops visual processes and programs for new stores and those being renovated. Previous positions with Saks include Vice President of Visual Merchandising in the Parisian Division, where he directed all corporate visual operations, and earned the Parisian Star Award, and Director of Visual Merchandising & Creative Services in the Proffitt’s / McRae’s Division. In this last post he directed merchandising and creative strategies and earned the Proffitt’s/McRae’s Partner Award.

      Prior to joining Saks, Shane served as Director of Visual Merchandising for Belk. During his time there he directed corporate visual organization and strategies, was given the Belk Chairman’s Pinnacle Award and spent six years on the Belk Executive Diversity Council.

      He also served as Visual Presentation Coordinator with Federated Dept. Stores, where he was given the Federated Chairman Award, and as Merchandise Presentation Coordinator/Store Planning & Design with Dillard’s Department Stores.

      Shane has served as an Editorial Advisory Board Member for Design Retail since 2012.

With a background in striking visual merchandising, store planning and design, graphics, art curation and collection, as well as an innovative application of technologies, he is one of the industry’s most recognized figures.

      Ignaz has spent 41 years in the design industry working for distinguished retailers around the country and has established a reputation for an innovative design philosophy marked by holistic design solutions. He has pioneered the use of innovative ways to immerse technology into the retail environment. By including art and artisan into the technology he has developed, Ignaz creates unique, functional design solutions throughout his projects.

      Previously, Ignaz served as Vice President of Store Development for Neiman Marcus Group, overseeing a total corporate staff of 50 as well as a visual merchandising team in stores of over 190 people. During his 24 years at Neiman Marcus, he opened 20 full-line stores, 6 CUSP stores, 10 Last Call Studios and numerous remodels around the country, while always taking into account the Neiman Marcus brand as a luxury retailer.

      Alan Harvill is President and CEO of EMI Industries, a company he purchased in 1994. Following this acquisition he made three more in both the fixture and food service industries. He is the Vice President of the Association for Retail Environments (A.R.E.) and also served as treasurer for the association. He is also a member of A.R.E.’s General Management and Convention committees and served on a task force exploring the possibility of developing an A.R.E. University.

      CloseZaiba Mian studied architecture at McGill University in Montreal and later completed a Masters degree in Interior and Spatial design at Chelsea College of Art & Design in London, UK. She has extensive work experience in both architecture and interior design.  

      Zaiba has taught at several colleges in Ontario and at Chelsea college of Art & Design in London, UK.  She is currently a full-time professor at Humber College in Toronto, Canada.  

      Zaiba is interested in making well-designed spaces which make reference to strong conceptual ideas.  She espouses an interdisciplinary approach which blurs the boundaries between architecture, interior design and fine art.

      CloseKen is a second generation professional within the industry. While he "grew up" within it, Ken formally started his career in 1991 after receiving his BFA in Visual Arts; serving as Computer Graphics Director for Trimco. In 1993, Ken received his MFA with a primary focus on computer animation and was presented the opportunity to work with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles team. Ken elected to remain on his existing path in visual merchandising; moving up the ranks and making partner in 1999. In 2009 Ken lent his families "Trimco" brand to Lifestyle Forms and helped double the companies business within 4 short years.

      In addition to serving on many industry boards and committees throughout his career, Ken also is active in many additional non-for-profits and social cause endeavors (Susan G Komen, North Shore Animal League America and The Water Initiative, to name a few).

      Ken's father, Richard, was one of the founders of PAVE; serving as President for many years. Richard took his vision; an idea, & helped build it into reality... all based upon the complete selfless principals of helping promote "the next generation" and protect the future of our industry.

      Ken is passionate about ensuring that his father's principals remain the primary root within PAVE's DNA. Says Ken "...anything less becomes disingenuous. It's never about 1 person or a group of people who manage the process. It was and should always be about the students; providing them opportunities to grow, flourish, and to become our future leaders".
