2018 Christine Taylor Collection Scholarship

The mission of the Planning and Visual Education Partnership (PAVE) is to support students studying in the field of retail design and planning and visual merchandising; therefore, PAVE has created the Student Scholarship Program to assist students with funds to cover basic needs. In nine years, PAVE’s Scholarship Program has proudly granted over $180,000 to students.

The Christine Taylor Collection Scholarship recognizes and supports leadership potential in the field of Visual Merchandising through a $5,000 award*


Christine Taylor Collection



1. Student must be enrolled in a program working toward a degree in the retail environments industry.

2. Student must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better.

3. Student must be in years 2 through 4 of their schooling.

4. Student must be a full-time student enrolled in at least 12 credit hours.

5. Student must be a U.S. citizen studying within the United States.

The following items must be included in your application for your request to be considered:

1. Letter of Explanation: (Max. 600 words) Examples include

  • Identify the reasons why you have selected Visual Merchandising as a career focus.
  • If you had to describe your chosen field of Visual Merchandising to someone that does not know about it – how would you describe it?
  • Identify what you feel are the challenges or issues facing the Visual Merchandising industry today and discuss.
  • Identify your ultimate career goal in Visual Merchandising and what you would hope to bring to the industry.
  • Incorporate in your essay those character traits you possess that will propel your academic and future career success.
  • Detail any challenges that you encountered in your educational career/pathway into Visual Merchandising (Essays should address all of the above topics for consideration by the PAVE Scholarship Committee.)

2. Project Folio of 6 pages maximum: (8.5 x 11 inch)

  • Describe/provide an example of a project (student based or professional) that you’ve worked on and that you are proud of (include supporting visuals) that demonstrates your ability or point of view related to the Visual Merchandising field/industry.

3. Two letters of recommendation

  • One letter must come from a professor or faculty member; the other letter can come from an employer, including internship supervisors. Letters may not be from friends or family members, and must be on school/company letterhead.

4. Must include a copy of your transcript (official or un-official).

*Award sent directly to recipient’s institution (to be applied directly toward tuition or other applicable costs of schooling).
