Virtual Iron Merchant - PAVE Student Edition

Do you have what it takes to be a student Iron Merchant?

Fourteen students will be given the opportunity to represent their schools and participate in the first-ever student edition of the Iron Merchant Challenge! The Iron Merchant Challenge is a visual merchandising competition that includes a combination of performance art and design.

Every year, the Visual Merchandising, Special Events and Creative Direction company, ZenGenius, Inc., designs and leads the Iron Merchant Challenge, held annually at the International Retail Design Conference (IRDC). This visual merchandising challenge is a mash-up of teamwork, creativity and design science centered around a specific theme, a hodgepodge of materials and a secret ingredient.

In this virtual edition of Iron Merchant, contestants will create a mini visual merchandising display in-a-box LIVE using a variety of materials and supplies thoughtfully prepared and mailed out by the ZenGenius team. Contestants will have 40 minutes to prepare their displays as viewers watch from afar. Each contestant will have the opportunity to walk audience members through their display before a live, interactive voting session determines the winner.

***** The competition will take place on Thursday, October 29 from 3:00pm to 4:30pm Eastern Standard Time. The event is LIVE so you must be available at this time to participate. *****
To qualify you must:
  • Be in your final/graduating year of school at the University/College level.

  • You must be studying and located within North America.

  • Reliable internet connection is required.
