PAVE Global, in partnership with the Retail Design Institute, is proud to announce that Brooke Hunter, a senior in the Interior Architecture & Design program at Colorado State University, has been selected as the recipient of the Paul Pizzini, FRDI Memorial Grant + Experience.
This prestigious award recognizes Brooke's exceptional talent, leadership potential, and dedication to advancing the field of retail design. As the recipient, Brooke will receive a $5,000 cash grant, an invitation to attend the 2024 PAVE Gala in New York City on December 12 (travel and accommodations covered), and a one-year student membership to the Retail Design Institute.
“Brooke’s dedication to thoughtful, user-focused design and her commitment to crafting impactful, engaging retail spaces set her apart from an exceptional pool of candidates”, said Cynthia Ortiz, RDI, International President of the Retail Design Institute. "Her work reflects the legacy of Paul Pizzini, whose mentorship and creativity continue to inspire the next generation of designers."
Brooke’s cover letter highlighted her fascination with design as a medium for storytelling, particularly within retail environments. She wrote, “Design is about users and clients—interpreting their voices and enhancing their visions to deliver beautiful results that empathize with their needs.”
Kathryn Patton-Miller, International Vice President of the Retail Design Institute, added, "Paul Pizzini was deeply committed to fostering new talent, and we are thrilled to see Brooke carry forward his legacy. Her dedication to developing user-focused, sustainable, and impactful design solutions aligns perfectly with the vision for this grant."
The grant, funded by the Pizzini Family, Miller Zell, RetailOne, Ensemble Architecture + Design, and friends of Paul, was established to honor the memory of Paul Pizzini, FRDI, a visionary mentor in the retail design community who passed away earlier this year.
The Retail Design Institute and PAVE Global congratulate Brooke Hunter on this well-deserved recognition and look forward to her future contributions to the industry.
