Project Manager – Mid-Level – Retail

Position Overview:


Join a dynamic and growing team designing innovative projects for leading retail clients. We are collaborative and client-focused, with a commitment to design experience, sustainability, and social purpose. This role is for a Project Manager who loves to push new ideas, is passionate about design, and gets excited about managing diverse retail design projects and collaborating with extremely talented creatives. Atlanta’s Retail Design Studio focuses on ground-up and interior design projects in specialty retail, quick-serve restaurants, and program management.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead collaborative design teams, working closely with Retail Leader and Design Director, to establish effective project work-plans with attainable project objectives

  • Manage all phases of retail architecture and interior design projects, from project set-up through design and construction administration

  • Help prepare project proposals, negotiate contracts and fees, coordinate bidding process

  • Manage scheduling, budgets, staffing, project set-up with clients, sub-consultants, vendors, and contractors

  • Track financial performance of projects

  • Develop and maintain client relationships, for both single projects and multi-project global accounts

  • Actively support firmwide sustainability and resilience goals, guiding clients and project teams toward multi-benefit sustainable and resilient design solutions

  • Support diversity, equity, and inclusion goals on projects and within the office

Qualifications:

  • Experience leading architectural and programming projects for a variety of retail clients (electronics, clothing, grocer, automotive, inline and stand-alone, food & beverage, QSR, healthcare, banking, home furnishings, etc.).

  • 10+ years of experience in the architecture and design field; 5+ years with a focus on retail interiors projects

  • Experience leading complex projects, multi-project accounts, and mentoring architects and designers

  • Strong leadership, organization, communication, and interpersonal management skills

  • Commitment to a collaborative design process

  • Experience negotiating project scope and fees

  • Knowledge of local building codes and standards

  • Working knowledge of Revit preferred

  • Professional degree (Master or Bachelor) in Architecture or Interior Design

  • Licensed architect, NCIDQ certified, and LEED AP preferred
