Position Overview
The position will contribute to the success of AEO by supporting the retail design process, inclusive of all phases from schematic design through construction completion. This individual is responsible for designing and managing retail projects by applying knowledge of architecture, interior design, and construction. This individual will closely collaborate with the cross functional teams to ensure the quality realization of new stores.
Responsibilities
Participate in developing innovative and creative design solutions consistent with brand strategy and merchandising standards.
Develop schematic feasibilities into preliminary layouts for new retail spaces & renovations.
Manage the schematic design process and work with consultants to prepare drawings.
Prepare presentation materials and/or renderings as required for internal design reviews.
Coordinate design activities with internal partners, architects, engineers, consultants, and vendors as required throughout the project lifecycle to ensure project criteria is met.
Collaborate with Construction to ensure proposed design adheres to budget and to resolve issues on site.
Communicate between the landlord internal permit team to obtain project approvals and permits.
Identify and escalate issues that can adversely impact project schedules, costs, or design integrity.
Qualifications
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in Retail Design, Store Planning, Architecture, or equivalent required.
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Equivalent preferred.
Proficiency with AutoCAD (latest release)
Experience with Revit preferred.
Familiarity with Procore, SketchUp, 3D Rendering, and Adobe Creative Suite a plus
Ability to understand & visualize architectural details.
Proficient knowledge of Architectural Drawing details and Means & Methods
General understanding of building codes.
Analytical & creative problem-solving skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
Ability to multi-task through aggressive schedules in a very fast-paced environment.
Self-motivated with critical attention to detail and reporting.
Demonstrates collaborative skills and ability to work well within a team.

Actual starting pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to relevant experience and location.
