Position Overview:
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in retail design from either working in-house for a national retailer or a retail design firm. They will be a team player and contribute to the overall dynamic of the team. The candidate should possess the ability to adhere to the Ulta Beauty design guidelines and standards in the development of new fixture plans along with new fixture design concepts. They should have a strong understanding of the visual merchandising process and how it relates back to the Ulta Beauty store design team. This person should be quick on their feet and easily adapt to the fast-paced nature of working within a retail environment while pushing the limits on great design. An understanding of how fixtures are designed and built to fit into a retail environment is a must.
Responsibilities:
Develop fixture plans for new, relocation, and remodel locations adhering to Ulta Beauty design standards.
Work closely with internal and external business partners (real estate, vendors, construction, store set, visual merchandising) from the initial site selection phase through store opening and beyond to ensure a successful store rollout.
Develop, design, and create presentations using rendering and 3D CAD software of new store design and fixture concepts.
Ability to brainstorm and think “out of the box” on new fixtures and store design concepts while staying on brand and being budget-conscious.
Develop architecturally and fixture details to support prototype design.
Communicate designs and details with fixture manufacturers, architects, and internally within the organization.
Ability to research new products while managing the Interior Design resource library and FF&E vendors.
Supports senior staff in design project management including task prioritization, coordination, and workload management.
Qualifications:
BA in architecture, interior design, or related field.
Recent graduate or 1-3 years of experience at a full service, high volume architectural firm or retail store design department.
Knowledge of construction documents and specifications.
Identify and communicate ideas and processes effectively.
Must be flexible with continuous modifications.
Must have strong organizational skills to meet deadlines and coordinate drawings.
Must be detail-oriented
Proficient in AutoCAD, 3dsMax, SketchUp, or other Rendering Software.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
